We spent two days at Universal (where I got my Harry Potter fix) and five at Disney.
We stayed at the Royal Pacific resort onsite at Universal. It had a fun South Pacific theme and we enjoyed the resort's many amenities. The rooms were small for a family of 5, but we weren't staying there for long, so it was fine. Staying onsite at Universal was well-worth the additional cost. Universal resort guests get an "Express Pass" that may be used on most rides (not Harry Potter rides) and they get an extra hour in a park in the morning. These perks are key when you're visiting during a busy time.
On our second day at Universal we went to Islands of Adventure and enjoyed the early hour there. Both days we ate lunch at the Harry Potter themed restaurants and really enjoyed them - especially the frozen Butterbeer! We toured the Universal parks until around 2pm on Monday and then grabbed our luggage and headed over to the Yacht Club at Disney World.
Below you'll see pics from the Universal part of the trip. I know they are all centered around Harry Potter attractions (because I am very geeky about Harry Potter), but we really enjoyed the other parts of the Universal parks too.
